    Pastel Xpress Start-UP V18 only 1 User

    Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me, please?

I recently ordered Pastel Xpress Start-Up V18 for a new stre we are opening. We got that version because it is the only one that still allows for a perpetual license and we won't have to pay every year. In all the previous versions of Xpress Start Up we have been able to create at least 2 users so that one can be set as a supervisor but now (after opening the box and registering) I see that it only allows for one user.

Do you know if there are any additional modules that I can get that will allow just one additional user? Or is there a way around this so that I can set restricted access to the user or anything? I need to be able to allow a supervisor to go in and adjust stock but not allow the general staff that. This is such a mess, please is there anyone that can help me at all?

    Thanks

    Janine

    Hi Janine,

The main restriction in the Startup packages is that you can only create one company and one concurrent user licence.

I assume that the user that you have already set up was set up as a Supervisor.

If you go to Setup...Users/Passwords...Users, you should be able to add almost as many users as you like, each with their own access rights. However, they will only be able to access the system from the one computer, i.e. one user at a time.

    Unless I have misunderstood you?

It doesn't allow me to add a user.

OMG, Neville! Thank you so so so so much! I have been stressing most of the day that I ordered the wrong Pastel. Thank you, I feel like crying with relief now. You are such a star!

Out of idle interest, does that particular functionality apply across all Pastel versions? Having an Add User option on that screen would seem to be a no-brainer.

I agree with you Dave, the design is not at all intuitive, and yes, it is the same across all the versions...

Up until the last time I set up a company which was in 2014 there was an add user button clearly marked but it looks like they have changed the layout. Thank goodness for Neville and this Forum or I would have been on hold to support for almost an hour (no jokes, I had to phone them earlier in the day for something) to try and get help from Pastel.
