That problem isn't helped any either if reports of unregistered electrical contractors doing installation work on sites are ignored by the DoL.

27 years in business as an electrical contractor ...never ever had a DOL inspector visit any site.

for 10 years i did everything by the book...was even a member of the ECA...paid my subs and taxes...realised what a f^&* joke this industry actually is...decided to can everything and operate as a pirate "unregistered" contractor since ...the only reason i am wasting my time with all this crap again...customers are requesting proof of registration etc ...

dont be fooled by "registered contractors" ...some of them are worse than the pirates ...it boils down to ethics ...you either have it or dont ...dropping off teams on site without supervision is just as bad if not worse than being a one man pirate contractor with good working ethics... being hands on i see it every day.

The good news for Friday ...i am now officially a "registered" electrical contractor as of today ...so from today the COCs I issue will actually be legit.

I even have public liability insurance from today.

I just dont know how i am going to manage all the work...fully booked until the end of Febuary next year.
