Question Total money paid to each supplier (per month per supplier)

Hi, I know this question is completely expose my ignorance but here goes: I'd like to see how much we've spent on Tooling this year per month with each supplier. I have 5 suppliers which supply us with tooling. I have created a supplier group called "Tooling" and allocated each of my 5 suppliers to this group (via Edit > Suppliers > Account > ..)

Is there a way I can view a report which will tell me the Total NET amount paid to each supplier each month?

Hi michellepace - I don't know if I understand the question correctly, so forgive me if my answer is a bit off.

If you have a Ledger Account (rather than a supplier) that you call "Tooling" you can then allocate both what you spend on tooling (from your varioius suppliers) as well as what you might get in from tooling. When you view your ledger for tooling you should get the net amount spent for that month or for all of the months selected.

    EDIT:

I assume that you are not just wanting to go View>Suppliers>Detailed Ledger>By Suppliers> Supplier Start/Supplier End>Dates>Each Period Separate ?

Hi Mike, so sorry for not coming back to you sooner. What I mean is, I have set "Supplier Category" to Tooling for 5 of my suppliers. I want to pull a report which simply answers the question - - "how much did I spend on tooling over a given time period?" From the help file I read this:

    Supplier Categories
You can group suppliers into different categories. You can create up to 99 categories. The use of categories is optional. However, they can be useful in various situations. For example, you may group suppliers by the type of product you purchase, by area, and so on. You can produce various reports in supplier category sequence.

But unforntutely I can't find how to report on Supppier Category.
