    Tax Year Date Adjustment

    Hi everyone,

I work offshore in EU and most years spend enough days out of the country (183 & 60) to receive all of my tax money back.
In 2017, I however did not spend enough days out of the country due to a lack of work, but spent quite a few days out in Nov & Dec.

What I'd like to do is back-date my tax year to the beginning of Nov 2017, which would mean my tax year ends end of Oct 2018. My tax guy has never heard of this situation. I have heard this is possible, would anyone know where I could start?

I have attached a spreadsheet to explain a little better.

Any help would be much appreciated.
