    EMAIL return address Spoof

Be aware of an international enquiry for your services, requesting brochures and price lists.
The source email looks correct, in the sense that it is a typical type of company email server address.
However when you click "Reply", Then the email goes to some name @ Hotmail.
This to me is an indicator of a scam.

I was not aware of this, until a reply came, with a link with an order in an excell extension, but when you click on it, it goes to a web page. Fortunately I have a slow internet connection, and was able to cancel the request.

I noticed that they have a return address which is the hotmail address. I can not see this in Outlook, but was able to pick it up on my email web page editor.
    Bloody sneaky

What is their ultimate tactic here?

    - To get you to open an attachment or to a web page which can download a virus type program, or
    - To add some legitimacy to a pretend order in the hope that you will ship goods without payment, or
    - Something else?

Not sure, but I think it is to drop in a trojan into your PC, and go for passwords, accounts, or your email address to use as a legitimate email source.
