Cooker connected with a length of 6mm Surfix

I don't do much domestic work but I have found cookers connections like this. Is this right?

    Morning Darking

One would need further info to answer you query accurately.

    What size is the cooker?
What is the size of the breaker?
Is there a isolator within 1,5m?
Is there a stove cooker coupler or is the circuit on a earth leakage?

    6mm can handle 40 amps

Just trying to gauge your area of interest in asking...

As opposed to the commonly found 6mm house wire in flexible conduit?

The Cooker is 45Amp maximum demand and is supplied by a 30 Amp breaker, connected through an ELC and the isolator is within 1.5 meters. Long ago when I was an apprentice I supplemented my meagre pay by repairing old stoves and washing machines and the cooker units had house wire in metallic flexible conduit. Surfix cable could be subject to damage by flexing when the unit is moved so surely this is not fit for purpose?

Some people connect stoves with a 15 amp plug socket.

    It depends on the application.

There is a list of variables for stove/cooker connections.
