Is it a good or bad thing to tell your boss you don't have enough to do?

Well depends on how you say it...

If you tell your boss you can take on more work and help out with other stuff to also learn in the process and become more of an asset to the company... I think that would be a good thing...

I think it is a bad idea saying to boss that you dont have enough work to do. Your boss can take it the wrong way and thinks of it as an insult to how he/she is running things in this company.
