    Not allowed to learn?

    Not allowed to learn Pastel/Excel?

My wife went to a local training facility to find out about Microsoft Excel, and Pastel. Now to be clear she is not a young woman anymore and never finished school. The reason she wanted to do training on these particular packages is to aid our new business.

She was unable to enroll? How is it that we are not allowed to learn skills to aid our own businesses?

    Anyone else had this happen?

Some courses will require prerequisite learning to be in place - it's not that unusual.

The options are to find another course or training provider, do a bridging course that will patch the deficiency, or go through an RPL (recognition of prior learning) process - all subject to availability of course

In the end we decided to just buy accounting software and wing it. No use fighting over it. That said Pastel lost a client due to this. Other then that QuickBooks looks promising.
