VAT Problem While Uploading data into Quickbooks via Zed Axis

    Hi there

Client has requested upload of all data ex Pastel (data in wrong years) into Quickbooks (in correct years).
I bought Zed Axis to facilitate the process and it works well apart from purchase invoices which include VAT, so far.
After the upload, Quickbooks reflects the VAT-inclusive amount in the expense account as in the Supplier's ledger, and VAT shows as NIL.

Quickbooks SA not interested and Zed Axis says it must be a Quickbooks problem.

Anybody had any similar experiences and resolved same?

    Thanks

    Hi Questor

I think Zed Axis was developed in Australia and they do not have VAT; the have a version of GST.

Their story that it is a Quickbooks problem is just passing-the-buck-speak.

I used to do a massive amount of importing using this product. It was essential to backup before each import because inevitably the VAT would be an issue, almost always due to me setting up the import incorrectly.

I have not used Zed Axis before. It looks pretty much ok but I simply don't have the time to test it.

    Hi Andromeda

    Thanks for the speedy response.

Zed Axis seems OK so far, I have to say and, yes, it is an Aussie program.

I'll backup and bang away until I get it right, then.

    Cheers

Zed Axix makes proper provision for VAT, they sell all over the world, so that would not be a problem. I have also done a lot of importing from Pastel to QB and I would say the problem is incorrect setup of the mapping file.

I found the help link for each transaction type quite useful.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I'll focus on the mapping file.

Nice to know there are others out there who have experienced the same problem and resolved it.
