    My experience SARS are efficient

I am not a tax practitioner, so my experience is anecdotal, but over the last few years I have always found SARS to be polite and efficient. This may be changing as they may come under pressure to deliver to the fiscus. The revenue shortage is not of their doing. I am not defending Monyane, the stories being published about him are horrific.

Until we change this Government, expect the fiscal pressure to intensify. Nothing over the last 5 years shows that they have any idea how to get out of this one.

The bottom line is - don't go into tax credit. Stay inside the law but be forward looking. Good luck to your daughter, but right now you need a streetwise accountant who understands the system.

Do you use full Accounting package like TurboCASH? it makes it a lot easier.

My tax practitioner worked 18 years for SARS.
As a personal retired taxpayer you don’t have any say on how much tax gets deducted via payroll. As well you don’t have a say in the matter when SARS hit you with a second assessment where you owe them R100000.... - illegal / unfair or not you must cough up and then fight for thr return of your money.
I really don’t have a use for TurboCash as a personal taxpayer.
