Thumbs up UIF Declarations not done

    Hi All,

We run two Payroll Systems, one for Wages and one for Salaried staff. The wages program, we submit UIF Declarations "live" on a monthly basis and do returns and payments through eFiling. When visiting Labour HQ in PTA, I was told Declarations have nor been done from 2012 to April 2015. From then to date all Declarations have been done. my question is should the Payroll system not have sent the outstanding Declarations live? How would this happen? Labour Dept in Polokwane insists that we still use u Filing as THEIR systems do not talk to each other. Any suggestions or way forward?

Do you have a UIF number and a Department of Labour no ?
You have to be registered with both - you have to upload all your staff to labour - you can do this via a csv file via U filing.
If not they will never talk to each other

Which payroll program are you using?

    and

Do you have evidence that a submission was actually made?

I run both Pastel Payroll and Donkerhoek Data - Africa Payroll. On Africa Payroll, Declarations are done "live" and have been for some years now, yet, Declarations were not done from 2012 to April 2015. Do I now have to manually go and do these declarations? On Pastel Payroll, Declarations are done through the uFiling system, but I want to do the Declarations "live" from Payroll this month. Do I then still have to go and declare manually on uFiling? If not, does that mean that employees should be removed from the uFiling system?

I do my submissions live from pastel payroll and they go through fine. If there is an issue you would normally get a mail from labour stating that there was an error. For your old outstanding declarations, maybe use ufiling(if you can), otherwise you will have to complete the manual UI19 returns and submit them to labour for capturing. If you have the time, use both systems to capture your current returns, alternatively just use ufiling or pastel "Live" submission. Never heard of Donkerhoek data so maybe that is where you "live data" was sent to, The Donker Hoek
