    Easyfile

    Hi guys

    New to the forum and Easyfile... help!

    1. I have imported my client's payroll file into Easyfile and performed a bundled IT reg. I waited 24 hours and then synchronised with Efiling, but the tax numbers could not be matched as the tax certificates (that I had imported and which had passed with warnings) could not be found. Now what? I am on v 6.7.4. SARS have logged a query...

    2. I took over another client's payroll mid-way during the tax year but mistakenly did not take on the previous balances in the 1st month of payroll that I ran. I don't have a record of the previous EMP501 having been submitted but tax certificates were issued for the 2016 tax year.

    There is nothing in the Efiling history for EMP501 submissions.

    The last Easyfile backup I can find on the client's server is dated Oct 2015 (so presumably 2015-08 midyear) but no copies of the actual EMP501 returns.

    I called the SARS call centre and they no longer give this info as it can be seen on Efiling, failing which the client must give me the information.

    How do I check on the status of the EMP501's going back? Or have the returns simply not been submitted??

    Why don't you clear your warnings and see if that doesn't resolve it ?

    Fix everything that they are warning you about on the certificates.

    I would not worry about the income tax numbers... submit the recon and then synchronize and get numbers for next period.

    The status of EMP501 returns are normally printed at the bottom of the PAYE statement if they are outstanding.
