Pastel V17 Inventory Item Import Errors

    Hello Everybody

I'm having trouble importing my inventory from a .csv file into Pastel Partner V17.
Here are the steps I take when creating the import file:

Using a pdf document that I received from Sage Support I create an Excel document with all the headings, exactly the same as in the document.
I pay special attention to columns AB, AJ and AK to ensure the formatting of those columns display correctly (for example 2 displays as 002)
I've created all the inventory categories for my products within Partner and I only have the two default inventory groups (Service items 001 and Inventory Items 002).
Once I've filled in all the fields in the excel document I save it as a .csv.
-I use the import/export option in Partner
-Select inventory items, browse for the .csv file I created
-Untick the Map fields box and click on process

Then I get an error saying Line 1: Inventory group does not exist

When choosing to import and mapping the fields manually Pastel automatically picks up all the mapping except for the Group column.
If i map the group column manually and click on process I get a runtime error 70.

I've spend lots of time on the phone with support but they just keep on telling me to make sure the formats are correct with Columns AB, AJ and AK.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Christiaan

    Hi Christiaan,

You mentioned that you included the headings for the columns - when you started the import, did you make sure that kept the option "Include Field Names" ticked?

Also, make sure that none of your stock descriptions have double quotation marks in them (").

If it still does not import, after checking the above points, please attach your CSV file and I will have a look at it.

    Hi Neville

I played around with different options, removing spaces from the headings, different formatting, alignment etc. and I was finally able to get the stock imported.
Unfortunately I have no idea what fixed the problem because the file that eventually imported seems to be exactly the same as the one that didn't want to import.

    Thank you for your reply
