Morning all, I have a situation where the d b is up against the ceiling , obviously out of arms reach and there is no way I can run the required 16 mm cabling to a isolator. would it be incorrect to install a shunt isolator in the db and use 1,5 mm surfix to a pianno switch to be used in an emergency, much like I did for many TOTAL PETROL STATIONS IN natal. although with them I installed a emergency push button .
Surely if its compliant for a petrol station it should be OK for house.
I did contact the ECA about this a couple of years ago and Brian came to my office as he did not know what a shunt trip was, he took all the tech details and even photographed it , he was unsure of what the situation would be if the shunt was to be used domestically and promissed to get back to me,, well i'm still waiting.
Can anybody advice,
kind regards
