    Newbie in Forms Designer

    Good day Everyone!
I want to thank everyone for the help. I find this forum very helpful.
I'm trying to change the layout of the invoice but forms designer does not save the changes that I make.
for example I want to have two lines in the detail section but it always put the fields to the top. Is there somebody who can help with this?

    Thanking you in advance.

I'm assuming a Pastel issue, so I'm moving this into the accounting forum.

Hi Todor. It is important that you name the file that you have changed correctly and that you change the extension to an ".enz" file. Different file names are used for pdf or for printing on pre-printed paper etc.

You will find a very helpful section about form names by going to "help - search - forms" and go down the list and find "form file names"

Hi Mike. Thank you. I'm trying to modify the invoice, I use cinvccp.enz. Even if I open csdoccp.eng file and try to put two lines in details section it does it, but when you open after that csdoccp.enz file fields are on top of each other. may be there is some feature in forms designer that has to be enabled? I've tried many times with different types of forms but it does not accept two lines in details section.

It is not possible to insert more than one line in the details section of the Forms Designer.

As a matter of interest, what are you trying to achieve as a final outcome? There might be other ways of solving the problem.

Thank you Neville. I want to use thermal printer to print invoices and there is no space to fill item code, description and price on one line. That's why I wanted to put all this info in three lines.

Unfortunately, as you have discovered, there is a physical limitation with the width of thermal paper, and the Forms Designer will not assist you in overcoming those limitations.

The only options are to reduce the width of the individual columns (thereby truncating them if they have many characters), or to possibly delete the item code altogether, but leave the item description and make it wider.

Thank you Neville. I've managed. My biggest worry was description, but it truncated and fit all other fields that I needed.
