    Monthly remuneration

The blond is let loose today (yes, me! - again).

When SARS talks about "monthly remuneration",what exactly does it mean?

The explanation on their website "the amount paid or payable for that full month" is ... well, confusing.

    • Is it the basic monthly income (before overtime and deductions)
    • Or is it the Gross salary (overtime, leave sold, deductions like e.g. staff loans)
    • Or is it the Nett salary (amount left after UIF and PAYE is deducted, i.e. money in your pocket

I'm busy calculating ETI and it does make a big difference.

ETI is calculated on the monthly remuneration which is Gross salary.

Deductions do not form a part of Gross salary.
