I am submitting this to the marketing thread as it's related to, and probably someone familiar with those practices can help.

I will start with the cons, because most will probably agree there are enough pros. However, today in my feed it appeared that some of our competing brands (Financika) focus on creating press releases. In some cases they are good - they announce real news, stuff that would sit good in a newspaper. Have you ever went about your marketing/seo efforts by personally creating news and publishing them on press-release distribution websites? I mean, those are not real authentic news about something press-worthy happening I am almost sure this was manually written. I am asking because this seems easy and if it can return any benefit, I'd recommend this to our marketing dept.
