Press-releases for marketing - pros and cons

I am submitting this to the marketing thread as it's related to, and probably someone familiar with those practices can help.

I will start with the cons, because most will probably agree there are enough pros. However, today in my feed it appeared that some of our competing brands (Financika) focus on creating press releases. In some cases they are good - they announce real news, stuff that would sit good in a newspaper. However, in a case I noticed now - there isn't real news there - http://mypr.co.za/financika-expert-b...forex-trading/.

Have you ever went about your marketing/seo efforts by personally creating news and publishing them on press-release distribution websites? I mean, those are not real authentic news about something press-worthy happening I am almost sure this was manually written. I am asking because this seems easy and if it can return any benefit, I'd recommend this to our marketing dept.

The only drawback of the press release is the use of the same content to different sources. This action makes clear the spam action for the search engine, when it has the same type of link in the text to your site. I am Brazilian , and here, like me, many SEO analysts rank the top sites receiving releases and each produce different articles and content .

As for me, I do not see anything bad in press releases, however I will fully agree that the content should be different. In this way Google bots will not take the post as simple plagiarism of the already written paper. If you submit press releases they should be different.

When you are speaking to your audience weather its Press release or article submission or anything else, it must to be authentic and authorized. Be sure about the information source.
    Remember
    ,
every word from your business contains a value reflecting your brand image.
You must serve your audience with quality content, that need to be relevant to the topic that visitors are looking for and what makes them engaged with Keywords.
It must contain user awareness that will guide them properly with resourceful knowledge regarding their satisfaction.
In that case dare to think, copy from others!
    that actually makes the differences.
Unique content always stays far ahead and it makes you more trustworthy to your audience.
Remind it, once they lose their trust, you can never bring it back.
Because credibility does matter rather than the visibility.
    Hope you find it helpful.
