PASTEL PDF INVOICE DOES NOT SAVE

    Hi
I am running Pastel Xpress 14. I've set up my invoices in the form designer. Both for PDF and printing.

I changed a few printer settings under the Pastel main program and the form designer, but for some reason I can not print or mail a PDF invoice

Once I have processed my invoice and I select print to PDF Complete, I can not find the PDF anywhere on my computer, nor does it send it to the email outbox.

    Can someone please assist?

    Just to confirm...

I assume you are printing to A4 plain single sheet paper.

You should have two form files located in your company folder, i.e. csdocsp.enz and csdocpdfsp.enz.

Under File...Printer/Fonts Setup, the Paper Style settings should be plain, single-sheet.

    Are the above in order?

You mentioned that you selected "print to PDF Complete" - that does not sound right. It should only be "print to PDF"...unless you made a typo? Also, when you print to PDF, you should get a pop up window, asking where you want to save the PDF file. Printing to PDF does not send the invoice to your email program - you need to select print to Email for that to happen.

    Hi

Thanks for your reply. These are my options.

From my "process customer" option, once I select "Print Document", it defaults to my HP Printer. Once I select printer options, my options are:
    Microsoft XPs Doc Writer
    HP Printer
    Fax
    PDF Complete
    OneNote

The file names are: cmthpdfsp.enz and cmthsp.enz. Once I edited the cmthsp file, I saved it as cmthsp.enz and cmthpdfsp.enz.

Thanks for assisting me. Appreciate it greatly

OK, now I understand the problem.

You have installed a third party PDF printer driver on your computer, called PDF Complete. I have no idea how it works, but I would imagine that there is a setting in the utility where you can ask it to prompt you for a location in which to save the PDF file.

This PDF Complete printer driver will use the cmthsp.enz form file, just like any other physical printer driver. Only Pastel's in-house PDF option will use the cmthpdfsp.enz form file.

Perhaps I should uninstall PDF Complete or try to make Adobe my PDF viewer?

Hi Neville. I've uninstalled PDF Complete. It seems to be an HP Product

I now have no pdf options in pastel and if I email the invoice as pdf it does not create it in my Outlook nor can I print a pdf invoice.

You can print an updated invoice as a PDF by going to View...Customers...Print Document...Tax Invoice, and then select PDF as the Print To option. You cannot print direct to PDF while the invoice is in an open batch.

I am not sure why the emailing does not work. Are you using a 32-bit or 64-bit computer, and is your Outlook the 32-bit or 64-bit version? The computer and the version of Outlook must be compatible.

Hi Neville. I found an error on my Outlook. There was an outlook data file to send and receive file missing. Did a google search and solved the problem. I now understand that a pdf cannot be sent via the open batch. All working well. Thanks so much for your assistance.
