    Domestic materials for recycling

Cape Gateway has one of the better list for domestic recyclable materials that I've seen, check it out to find out what can be recycled, and how to categorise common household items.

And there is a handy link in there as to where the recycling centres are. Impressive.

Cape Town is also currently running a recycling pilot project . In certain areas they've handed out clear plastic bags. Each household can fill a single clear plastic bag with any recyclable items and then that is collected and sorted. Can't find a link online right now, but it read it in the City News newspaper.

Not available in my area yet, but hopefully the project is successful, and the programme expands.
