    Cannot restore my backups

Pastel Partner V12: Pastel does not want to restore some of my backup files. I am trying to restore a small 2015 2016 company file, but Pastel tells me there is a problem with the restore process, Error 503.

I suggest that you bypass Pastel's restore process and do the following:

Close Pastel and then, in Windows, rename the existing company folder to something else. Then right-click the backup file (which is a zip file) and select Extract All - this will create a new company folder. Open the company folder and look for a file named backup.txt and delete it. Make sure the new company folder is in your Pastel12 folder (where the original company was located).

You can then open the company in Pastel.

Hi Neville, I hope you can assist me. I installed Pastel Xpress V12 onto my new laptop and am trying to restore my company however, I get the following message when trying to open the company ":Status 22 (A file in your company database has become corrupt or is not compatible with this version.'' I have used backups from different dates so I am pretty sure that it is not the files that are corrupt but rather the versions are not compatible - any suggestions? Shaun

    Hi Shaun,

Sorry, I only saw your post this morning.

Are you still having problems opening the company?

    Hi Neville,

No all sorted...turns out that error means that V12 backup made on W8 is not compatible with V12 on W10.
    Had to upgrade to V14.

Thanks for coming back to me - Appreciated!

    Shaun
