    Pastel Payroll: Back Pay

    Hi,

I need to back pay an employee for 2 months salary. I was just going to record it as a signing on bonus, and let him claim the refund at the end of the year, but then I saw the 5208 and 5209 Backpay codes

What is the difference between these two and which should I use to get the PAYE recorded correctly?

    Hi TravisZA,
Code 5208 is a calculated amount whereas 5209 let you input your own amount. I normally use 5209 for back pay.
always fear when Christel is near....
