    Thank you very much guys, you have given me a fish (Answer) definetly sure I won't go hungry today but however please teach me how to fish now (how did you get about to that 5Amp C-curve MCB ..."METHOD/FORMULAR) THANK YOU ONCE MORE.

    @sambo. If you read the previous comments from Andy,Dave and Justlaodit, you will see theres no formula here. The drill press has its own overcurrent protection device (supposed to). On the ID plate it states the drill will draw a current of 2.75A. Thus you go and check what wire size can draw those amps on that lenght. Refer to sans 10142-1 for volt drop calculations etc. If you determined the wire size, you must now select the protection device (mcb) to protect the wire (circuit). In this case, if you use a 1.5sqmm Surfix, a 5A mcb is more than sufficient. If you want more info on cables etc, check if you can download the aberdare catalogs. If you cant get hold of them,let me know, i can upload it.
