    no payment of wages

    Hi all I am new here so i hope this is the right place. I work in the retail sector and get paid weekly , however my boss is delaying the paying of my wages ehile the rest of the staff have been paid. He has also paid his insurance and withdrew R500 from the account. He has not given me any reason why. I am a single mom and i have no money to even get to work tomorrow, please can someone advise me on what to do urgently. thank you

    What would give him reason to do this ?

    You say you get paid weekly - explain how ? up to which day in the week ? Do you fill in a timesheet ? Have you perhaps missed submitting it ?


    The reason why I am asking this is because we have a few temps working at companies on our books. The get paid for mon - Fri - They have to fill in a timesheet, get is signed off by their boss and it must be sent to us by Tuesday for us to do the payment by Thursday afternoon. If it is not done correctly they will not get paid.

    I am permanent staff not temp. wages are paid Wednesday to Tuesday but I only get mine the following Monday. I still have not been paid today and other staff are due their weeks wages again. Yet his subscription to vacation club was paid today

    I was only referring to the temp side of things because thats what I have, but it is very similar with regard to weekly pay.
    You haven't answered any of my other questions, therefore I am unable to help you further.

    Have you asked your boss why he has not paid you?

    I have and he keeps saying he will pay it, but as of this morning still no money, the rest of the staff are due their wages again today and still I have not been paid. All his personal stuff has,been paid too. Am I allowed to sit and do nothing?

    All my timesheet are up to date I feel my hours in daily. He has given me any reason why he is not paying me.

    He has not given me an answer only thst it will be paid, however the rest of the staff are due their wages again today and I am still waiting for mine, now expecting 2 weeks salary. Am I allowed to sit and do nothing since I have not been paid?

    Hopefully you will get paid with this payroll batch then.

    How long have you been with the company?
    Have there been previous incidents of delayed payments to staff?

    Did you get paid?

    One other thing: how do you know about the personal payments that he makes?
