Any suggestion for the way forward.

Please dont tell me to get the customer or main contractor to sign a contractor. I have been doing this for 25 years and not once has a signed contract ever resulting in full payment being made. At one stage I even tried using the ECA to recover debts, that resulted in a R35 000 loss.

I was going to try some heavy handed debt collectors but even that doesnt work anymore.

Like buying stuff on Ebay you have payment methods which people must pay into and only once the customer is happy with the product is the money released.

I cant believe that i havent figued out a way to make sure i get my money after being ripped off so many times.

    @ians

it is time to be a pig and make a
example of this person if it was
me it will not be about the money
    it is about payback

find a a debt collector that also do
blacklisting and start with that why
    not do it

you are not going to see your money
so do your worst and make it sting in
the end of every month walk into his
    office and demand payment

he cannot ignore you forever or you
can call it a day and in future demand
a deposit that will cover your expenses
it is the only way to go

It is so draining dealing with these people. You never know what to believe.

it is time to test the waters
    get a heavy handed debt
    collector and black list this
    person

    get a system that works
    then you have something
    to fall back on

    this guy had no intention
to pay so give him every
    reason to change his mind

yes it is draining but it is
    better then doing nothing

Is there a simple inexpensive way to blacklist these kind of people?

i am going to be honest with you
phone around the last guy i worked
with did to the blacklisting it is a
bloody state secret on how they do
    it

but i ended up making the calls and
did the rest he was useless if you
find someone that is not a total
    waste of time please share

but most of them can do a
    blacklisting relatively easily for a
few hundred rand last time i did it
it cost me R750 but i am told by my
wife they might be up in price now

but they dont tell you how to do it
i guess it is where there money is
    made

I had to restrain myself from inflicting some serious bodily harm to the %^$%& on Friday.

When i indicated to him that i would be dropping off my staff at his home in the afternoon so that he could pay their wages. His response - " What has me not paying you in December have to do with you not being able to pay your wages today"

He cant understand why I dont have a enough funds in my account to carry him and everyone else who decides not to pay me on time.

I knew someone who provided Dental equipment. The dentist owed him around R35,000 and kept promising he could "pick up the cheque".

In the end he paid a FILTHY beggar, with SEVERE B O to walk in when the cheque was "next ready", with a packet if hot chips soaked in vinegar, to ask for the cheque. For the umpteenth time it was not ready.

So, the beggar sat down in the waiting room, and started to eat. The scent of the chips and the beggar were somewhat "heavy".

They asked him what he was doing - he replied that he had been told not to leave until he had the cheque. Polite, friendly, not aggressive.

20 minujtes later he had his cheque. Cost him R250.

    unfortunately i cannot tell you
to maybe get a big guy and
    pay him to rearrange mister
    %^$%& teeth that would be
    irresponsible and illegal

i also cannot tell you to get a
air gun and shoot out a few
    bmw headlights because it is
    totally illegal and totally
    irresponsible and you can get
    into a heap of trouble

    unfortunately your only option
is to get this guy blacklisted
and do a proper job at that
also a legal letter would be
    nice

I am finding social media is the best way to get a reaction, especial with companies. It seems twitter is the fastest.
