2 Recruiting/sales Tips from Wolf of Wall Street

    Hi

Regardless of how you feel about Jordan Belford (the real Wolf of Wall Street) the man was/is incredible at selling to cold market leads.

I want to share 2 simple but powerful (and legal) tips taught by him which you can use in your thinking and strategy for recruiting new team members into your MLM.

Tip #1: Go for FAST DISQUALIFICATION.

This, like all sales, is a numbers game....that's because not everybody wants what you have. Don't waste your time trying to convince people whom are not interested because even if they do join your business you'd then need to convince them to do everything - use the product, take action, build their business, sell the product, etc...this will suck the life out of you! lol

So instead go for fast disqualification which means, if they are not interested, move on quickly.

For eg: You approach a prospect, inquire if they're open to more income options (or however you approach prospects)....and if so, you'd like to show them something (ie: your company presentation...event/dvd/online presentation etc). If they say "no", "is this that pyramid crap" (lol), etc....MOVE ON gracefully & swiftly.

Think about your MLM as ice-cream. Not everybody likes ice cream. If you offer ice cream to someone and they say "no, I hate that crap", would you get offended/take it personally/feel rejected? Of course not!

Just move on...eventually you'll find people who LOVE ice cream and those are the people you focus on, spend your time, energy and efforts with THEM - help them share ice cream with others

Tip#2: Do NOT be addicted to the outcome.

Prospects can sense when you are desperate. Total turnoff. The key is to NOT care what the outcome is. YES you must care about THEM as a human but detach yourself from the "yes" or "no" you get.

Your thinking and even your words to them could be something like this: "I'm going to do this with or without you but I'd love to do it with you". This is a great attitude to have. Unattached to the outcome. Your prospect will sense your "coolness" which makes the process a lot smoother.

Bonus Tip: KISS - Let your company's tools do the presenting.

Once you've found those who are interested in looking at what you have it's critical that you DON'T speak.

    hah? What do I mean?

This is critical to understand: The way you approach your new prospect is how they think they need to do their business (when they join).

So if you complicate things by talking your head off, doing some elaborate presentation (even if it's 10-15 mins or longer) they will start thinking "I don't have the time for this business because I need to speak this much!!")

The more you speak, the more your prospect thinks they have to speak (when they get into the business)....instead KISS - keep it super simple!

Say nothing further and let your company's tools like a dvd, live/online presentation or your sponsor do the presenting for you.

Once they have seen presentation simply asked "what they liked best".

Your job is NOT to sell. It's to simply COLLECT DECISIONS. And then of course take massive care of them when they do become a team member.

Have any thoughts on this? If so, share it....

There is merit in these 2 tips, irrespective of what you are trying to sell, whether a service or product , the same rules apply.
