SA ENTREPRENEURS MUST SEIZE OPPORTUNITY IN SADC

It is on lime lite that SADC has high literacy rate ,natural resources such as minerals, flora and fauna just to mention a few key investment market signal drivers. Mzansi South Africa lately our currency the Rand has been plummeting on a down wards trend against major hard currencies namely the American Dollar and the Euro. This has dredged deep and impacted badly on local entrepreneurs who are in manufacturing ,construction and mining.as the need of foreign currency to buy imported chemicals and equipment is thinning. As bad as it looks it is an opportunity for those with titanium back bone to invest in exports across the borders where hard currencies are in circulation and bring in foreign current to strengthen our Rand through foreign direct investment.''Seeing opportunity changes nothing. I agree. We are focused too much on just getting by. Small thinking equates to small results. Think big if you want to get meaningful results.

At last the Government has woken up and realised that we are exporting raw materials that can be converted to products before exporting. The beneficiation of raw materials is long overdue as so much more revenue can be earned from a finished product, compared to raw materials.

It is therefore encouraging that a huge investment is being made to start a South African jewellery industry that will add value to our gold and diamonds before it is being exported. The same needs to happen to all our raw materials, even if foreign companies come and set up operations in South Africa. It will create meaningful employment and an urgently needed skills transfer to serve future generations.
Excellence is not a skill; its an attitude...
