    Loan repayment tax status

My dad recently got sick and went to hospital for two weeks. Since he does not have any medical aid I had to pay his hospital bills! Or rather, I had to "lend" him money to pay the bills. Eventually he plans to pay back the money.

The money was taken from my after-tax savings. This is money that has already been taxed, so how will any repayment that he might eventually make be treated from a tax perspective? Since I'm not making a profit, will it be taxable again? Will I have to declare it as income on my tax return?

    Thanks.
