The Compensation Fund administers the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act No. 130/1993.
The main objective of the Act is to provide compensation for disablement caused by occupational injuries or diseases sustained or contracted by workers, or for death resulting from such injuries or diseases, and provide for such matters connected therewith.
In terms of section 30 of the Act, The Minister of Labour has issued licences to Rand Mutual Assurance and Federated Employers Mutual Assurance to administer companies in class 13, 4 and class 5 respectively.
Employers are warned of a bogus company called Compensation House (PTY) Ltd.
This Compensation House (PTY) Ltd is issuing out notices to employers informing them that they have been authorised by Compensation Fund to administer class 1, 5 and 6 employers on behalf of the Compensation Fund.
The compensation Fund has neither authorised nor has any association with this bogus company.
No authorisation has been granted by the compensation Fund to the company called Compensation House (PTY) Ltd to administer companies in any class.
