Hallo, I hope someone will be able to help with the following.

Normally, after I do my processing in pastel, I create a copy company which I update and use to do the VAT Calculation. Since yesterday the following error pops up when I try to create a copy company: YOU MAY NOT CREATE A NEW COMPANY IN AN EXISTING PASTEL COMPANY

I phone Pastel and they were not able to assist. I reinstalled my Pastel but still the error pops up.

Has anyone also experience this error and if so - can you help?

    Thank you very much

Could it be that you are only licenced to run a certain number of companies in Pastel?

    Hallo Mike

Thank you for you response. We are however registered to be able to create unlimited Companies in Pastel Partner 14. We are going to uninstall the Program and Reinstall. Hopefully it will address the problem. Kind regards

Reinstalling Pastel won't solve the problem.

Unfortunately your screenshot does not show the full story. If you click on the "New Company" tab, where is the cursor positioned? It must be located on the Pastel14 folder (like the "Copy Company" tab) and not on the company folder itself.

    Neville,

I have seen this error on numerous occassions before, and am struggling with it once again, now that I want to create a new company.

I remember a consultant once saying something in the line of Pastel seeing the Pastel14 folder as a company.

    Do you have any suggestion?

My personal opinion is that it's simpler and safer not to use Pastel's "copy company" utility, but rather to simply make a copy of the existing company folder in Windows and then to rename the copy company folder in Windows. You can then attach the new company folder to the Pastel logon menu with a "Add Company" button.
