Question Registering as a Provider at local municipality

    Hi,

I'm running a guest house and registered as the sole proprietor. I want to register at the local municipality as a service provider, but not sure if it is required to be a CK/Company (they're asking for the reg numbers on the form). They also need a tax clearance certificate, which would probably be my own since I'm the sole proprietor...?

I know that this information should be available from my local municipality, but let me tell you, it is impossible to get any information from them. They literally have NO clue. Just getting these forms was a major operation. I'm only trying to save myself some hassles by not submitting a form with the wrong information, or going through all the headaches that lie ahead for nothing. I've been supplied with the wrong information countless of times and ended up wasting more than 4 years because of it.

So, if someone has any experience with this, please share. Much appreciated!

Do you really want to deal with your municipality who may end up not paying you?

You do require a tax Clearance Certificate and if you are a sole proprietor, then everything will be in your own name.
Excellence is not a skill; its an attitude...

Times are tough. I need to at least try.
Anyway, thanks for the reply. I'll just submit it and get it over with. It seems that in a sea of confusion it is the most trivial of issues that brings you to a dead stop.

Just use your ID number if you're a sole proprietor.
