I star the neutral and earth at the UPS Bypass switch (where the inverter output goes in)

Not all inverters are designed to be wired directly into the DB so be cautious.

I get this reading between Neutral and Earth when the inverter is on mains... Maybe it would be better to refer to it as a UPS plugged into the mains sircuit. - Whilst the mains is on, the inverter is not in use and mains power bypasses to the appliances connected to the UPS (in my case only lights) and the battery is on charge. If mains power is interrupted, the inverter kicks in and supply the lights with 220V power. As far as I know, it is not necessary to have a bypass switch for an UPS? Everything works fine, except that some LED lights just dimm when they are switched off (i.e live wire is cut) whilst the UPS is receiving mains power.
