    Help me !

    Hi there

I hope someone can help me with that: if there is a wallsocket 3 phase 63 Ampere, but I want to connect something that has a 3 phase 32 Ampere plug, can I use a adaptor from male 63 to female 32 or is it not allowed. I would not do it out of wellknown reasons, but you see those adaptors around. Anybody can link me to the rules in NZ? I come from Europe, it is not legal there.

    thanks

You're on a South African forum so I wouldn't hold your breath for someone giving you info on the New Zealand regs. If you want to plug a 32A plug into a 63A socket you could make up a trailing adaptor with a 63A plug on one end and a 32A socket on the other. I personally wouldn't do it regardless of what country I was in.

You Have to check what the current rating of the cicuit breaker/protective device supplying the wall socket is.
