    Collective bargaining seminars for KZN

The ECA(SA) (KZN) will be hosting Collective Bargaining Seminars in order to assist employers in being aware of the terms & conditions of the Bargaining Council Agreement affecting the day to day running of their businesses. All electrical contractors are invited to attend, whether they are a member of the ECA(SA) or not.

To confirm your seat, contact Lyn or Resheka at our ECA(SA) KZN offices on 031 – 312 6313
    REFRESHMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED.

    RICHARDS BAY

    Why you should attend:
Prior to the NBCEI (SA) obtaining registration throughout the RSA, employers in those areas which fell outside of the Bargaining Council jurisdiction were bound by the provisions of the BCEA 1997. As of July 2013 all employers & employees in the Electrical Industry are bound by the terms & conditions of the said Bargaining Council Main Collective Agreement.

Every single contractor should attend this Collective Bargaining seminar as it directly impacts on your business.

I've already got a commitment in Pretoria from 19 - 21 August, so I'll have you attend as representative of my company to the Durban one, if you're interested Anthony. Given your area of expertise, it's an easy case to argue for, (Company's labour lawyer - that'll shake up the roost ) and I'd certainly value any feedback you could give as a result.

I have already arranged to go to the one in Port Shepstone instead for a first hand peek at proceedings, but it shouldn't pose any problems - I'll just be there as a supportive member of Exco if anyone has any gripes about it (which I doubt, particularly as Labour is part of my portflio).

And it's not like there's going to be any voting.

Is there a reason they're avoiding CT?

This round has already been run in CT, and pretty much the rest of the country apparently.

Maybe someone who attended the CT meeting can give feedback here.
