I'd expect the situation for the garage door motor is the same as for disconnecting gate motors. If the garage door motor is supplied off a lockable isolator (as opposed to a circuit breaker) from the distribution board in the garage, the requirements for a disconnecting device are met.
What has me a little nonplussed is as it isn't supplied by a socket outlet, the line-of-sight option would seem not applicable.
The isolator in the db would have to be lockable, despite probably being within line of sight.
