    Pastel tax verification process

    Morning all,

I received the following message on Pastel upon attempting to view tax type reports of another bookkeeper:

The automatic tax verification process has determined that there may be discrepancies in your recent tax submissions. To confirm previous amounts submitted are correct, please reprint your Tax Box or Tax Type reports and compare with the amount you submitted to your local tax authority. Click the Help button below for detailed steps to follow in order to reprint the above reports.
    Kind regards,
    The Pastel Team

Have any of you received a message like this, and do you know which verification process they are referring to?

Me neither. I get the idea that somehow it is verifying the data on Pastel with the data as on the VAT201..

I wonder if it may have something to do with the new Tax Period system that Pastel has incorporated. In other words, once you close the tax period and then, at a later stage, enter an Invoice (either Customer or Supplier) in that period, it is going to cause a discrepancy in the total which you have already submitted to SARS for that Tax Period.
