Exclamation Where does one report fraud of which the auditor of the company had knowledge?

How does one disclose fraudulent activities to which the auditor was a party to? To what department or institution? (Fraudulent financial reporting) This was done by basically embezzling money. I am not a registered auditor so IRBA can not help me. They can only assist me by lodging a complaint against the auditor in question.

The present legal system - criminal & civil - is in tatters. In all likelihood, you will burn years of your life, with no result to show for it.

SA is a corrupt nation, arguably on the lines of Nigeria, or yet another African nation... !!!

Absorb that, internalise & move on with the rest of your life.

If fraud has been committed, you open a case at your local police station. It will require some patience and time to see the process through though.

KPMG website has a fraud line or you may send a mail. You may stay anonymous and it does not have to be a KPMG client.

    Good day desA.

With all due respect - an opinion was not requested. The question was, in simple terms: where does one report fraudulent activity. I have already taken the decision to report it which is difficult enough. If you cannot add value, please refrain from answering any of my posts in future.

Your theoretical question has been answered by most above.

The Law Society of SA also has a hot-line link that could be of some assistance. If memory serves this ends up as one driven via Deloits, or of similar ilk.

My answer is a practical response based on walking a road similar to the one you are about to attempt. All the very best in your endeavours. Please do keep us informed of your substantive progress. I still believe your efforts will be futile in SA's present business climate, but this something you will have to discover for yourself.
