Deadline for new B-BBEE Codes extended

For those who may have missed it, the DTI has extended the deadline for complying with the new B-BBEE Codes by six months from 1 October, 2014, to 30 April, 2015.

Here's the original Government Gazette notice

There are plenty of threads in this forum that discuss various aspects of the new Codes, however, I have a blog post that highlights three particularly important implications:

    1. Greater emphasis on procurement and supplier development.
    2. Vast differences in compliance ease and cost depending on your company profile.
    3. Extreme penalties for white-owned companies, and extreme benefits for black-owned ones.

If this is not the mark of racism, and the continuation of racism, and we are not acknowledging that it is racism, then we will soon be under another racist government.

Oh, we're well past the point of acknowledging BEE is racism and that we have a government obsessed with race. The logic is that it is fair racial discrimination to correct the imbalances of the past.

How the law is being twisted to appease the masses, no wonder JZ will get away with nkandla. The law is only applied when it suits them, every other time it is defended by the statement that it is the "traditional" way that applies.

Before we realise it, it will be written in law and apartheid will be alive as a way to control people again.
I wonder if the world will get involved as it did pre 1994?
