    Question Pastel Inventory

    Good Day everyone

We have supplier issues, they are over charging on a few items and at the moment we have to go back to old invoices to compare prices on a daily bases, which is very time consuming and labour intensive, does pastel inventory have a function where you can upload price lists from suppliers and immediately see if there are discrepancies?
Also can you set up a product to display on an invoice as one name and works out the manufacturing materials "in the background" enabling stock control to see exactly what needs to be order?
And also can you just buy the inventory as an add on to pastel Xpress 11?
Can you add Invoices per line item from invoices per invoice number or must you add them as invoice totals?
Sorry for all the qeustions but I've been through the Pastel website and can't seem to find enough information.
I would like to find out all this information before spending lots of money on a program that might not even be able to do everything we need.

Not really, although there are other ways of checking variances like this. For example, under Setup...Inventory, there is an option called "Maximum Cost Difference %". When you purchase an item, this will check the percentage difference between the last cost price and the current cost price. This could prevent keyboard errors where users add an extra digit to a price. To disable any checking, enter -1.
Also, when you process a supplier invoice, the unit cost field will automatically default to the last unit cost captured for that stock item, so you can quite easily pick up an abnormal change in unit cost.

If you have Pastel Partner (not Pastel Xpress), you can purchase the Manufacturing (or Bills of Material) add-on module, which will do what you want. If you give me your base serial number, I can send you a quote, together with some information on the module.

Pastel Xpress 11 already has inventory included - it is not an add on module.

I presume you are referring to the capturing of supplier invoices into Pastel? Yes, you can do that, by creating individual stock codes for your purchases, and then capturing quantities and unit costs per line item.
