Journey to the centre of Earth...

Just wondering, assume you can get the correct gear, direction finders, and breathing apparatus, etc. Would it be possible to burrow from the north pole and come up (down) at the south pole?

Without searching the web for clues, what do you think?

I think that gravity and heat may present some problems

Considering that I have the correct gear to deal with the heat and the pressure, gravity would only be a problem from a pressure point of view. I think I would be more worried about the environmental pressure, the tunnel I have created would have a pressure potential of, perhaps, 100 000's Tons per square cm, surely this would cause the tunnel to act as a gun barrel, and once the pressure is released it would force me out of the tunnel like a bullet and launch me into space? But, assuming, by some miracle invention, I could overcome this, would it be possible to tunnel through without total destruction of the earth? I would probably be swimming through molten lava for a third of my journey...

To be honest, the most pressing question on my mind would be the best route to follow to determine what colour panties that my beautiful assistant is wearing!

Show her what colour you are wearing and then ask her what colour she is wearing. You one lucky man, while you in the presence of beauty, I am in the presence of my 145kg Sweating Hulk Made.
How is this for disgusting, last December I was having a nice day in the sun braaing, I was seated on the bench. My made came over to ask me something, I turned my head up to talk, she was sweating profusely, and wiped her dripping forehead with the back of her hand, the sweat landed directly in my mouth! Gag! Gag! Instant gagging, I almost through up! sis sis. My wife would not kiss me for a while after that

The trick is not to hire anything that your dog would bark at. Next time you hire a maid tell the DM that she could double as the baby sitter (to keep you busy while she watches Smallville)

You will probably die of old age first.
At a diameter of about 12000 km it's a long way.
If you can drill a km in 3hrs, and average walking speed is 6min per km, you looking at 1km per 10 hrs, effectively a day, about 32 years.
Best you start now, not getting any younger
