There are a lot of strategies and steps you can do to properly promote your business online. But I think you could start by having social media accounts with tons of followers and having a blog with informative articles. Good luck!

goto vworker and advertise seo / internet marketer needed; then read through a thousand mails or so per day.

Alternatively, goto http://wozaonline.co.za - it's business from google to help startup companies.
They also allow when visitors sends you a mail to notify your cell, so you dont chekck you emails every 5 seconds for possible inbounds.

search for 'free adverts' and you'll find 5+ web sites for south africa to accomodate you.
place 2 ads - 1 in the correct category, and another in a similar category on each site.

Once done, see if there are 'seekers' / 'want to buy' - Those can become leads / contacts.

    Another is LinkedIn.

Depending on the nature of your service; if you deal with small client base with huge transaction values; this is the place to be.
You can search for groups relating to your industry, pick 'n toe on each memebr and se who you want to connect to.
These connections are 1st tier - meaning you can message each other without paying.
    Dont connect to competitors ...

If your service is < 50 USD for instance, consider apple store, online stores ,etc. to accomodate if required.

if it's physical items than needs to be shipped; goto e-bay

    Joya,
The first order of business is, who is your target market? What is your product or service? I believe that you need to look at the needs of your target market and consider what methods they would use to contact you and then start making decisions. You need to make it as easy as possible for them. Our company targets Home Owners, we have Websites, Facebook Pages, Twitter Accounts, LinkedIn accounts and so forth, all to drive traffic to our websites as that is our product. In all of these different methods we are reaching our target market, Home Owners.
