    Thanks for the replies guys I will see if I can borrow a meter somewhere and then buy the right UPS.

    Adrian thanks for the reading from your machine do you keep a stock spares for your machine.

    Andy this is a chinese machine and all it says on the back is 220v but is was all we could afford at the time.
    Only stress when you can change the outcome!

    Ian it must have, HP, KW, KVA, amps or something, take a pic of the plate where you can see 220 (by the way it should say 230 volt) and post it. Other wise take a pic of the inside of the electrical control box, then we can see circuit breaker sizes, o/l trip settings etc. You gotta love modern technology

    Is there a supply transformer?

    I have asked my daughter who is an electrical engineer to lend me a power meter and she asked the same questions about the stickers. But she will see what meters she has at home and let borrow them.

    Eeeeeish, ok I see what you mean.

    The other option is to goggle the machine and try get more info that route, or send the supplier an email and let them source the info.
