    Advertising company in adwords

    Hi all,

I'm trying to find new clients for my company. I do Ruby on Rails web applications. I have spent $300 on google adwords but it looks like there is no sense. I mean - no effects. Many clicks, no mails, no new clients.

Have you any tips, how to advertise company in the Internet? What's the conversion? It's not a typical product that customer get just buy. It's a service because I do web application but looking for new ideas how to bring my business up.

    Regards,
    Lukasz

How much thought have you put into identifying your target market?

    I thought about $500.

I saw that Google targets my ads for keywords that are mostly searched by programmers. I'm not sure how to exclude this group of people from my target in adwords.

Add the keywords that give a negative buy signal to the "keyword exclude" list when you're building the campaign. Good examples of negative buy signal keywords are "free", "training", "course" (unless that happens to be what you're offering, of course )

The challenge as I see it is you operate in such a competitive space, you really have to dig for the long tail searches with clear buy signals for exactly what you're offering. The search volume will be much lower, but your CTR and eCPM performance should be a lot better - hence a much more cost-effective campaign.

My original thought arose because with some careful thought, you might be able to identify the right potential clients - and rather than wait for them to search, start trying to contact them. Do it right and you'll either get clients, or valuable feedback.

These days, there are some internet marketing services you are going to use through advertising your product. You must learn first what is the best way to advertise and make your business up.

Yes, you're right. Dave's comment is really accurate too.

I'm going to check out facebook and linkedin ads. I think it's much more better because I can show my ads to custom target like investors in the given age and branches. It sounds interesting and promising for me.

You should prepare yourself before doing any sought of PPC campaigns for your business. If you don't do a market research etc you will lose your hard earned money in no time.

1.Decide your goals from the campaign.
    2.Choose the networks properly.
    3.Decide Your Budget
4.Estimate the traffic you will get from those keywords.
    5.Messaging for ads.
    6.Ad extensions
    7.Landing Page ( Very Important )
8.What will be your Bidding Options.

You should have the above things ready so you will have at least a proper goal to fulfill.
I checked your site and there is no landing page on it. Do you believe someone would type a mail to contact you ?

Make sure you have a proper landing page before doing ppc campaigns. Why don't you try some app marketing places you will find a good stuff over there.

    Hope this helps.
