Free State govt: We paid R40m for website

Damn, I saved a lot of money! Is it now 40mil or 140mil? Either way, how rediculous!

The Free State government’s director general says it paid R40m for its website redesign. The website is powered by Wordpress - a free blogging platform.

This is disgraceful! 40 mil for a website, totally disgraceful!

We design equivalent websites for approximately R5000. Sometimes less if the client just wants a template like that.

I think I need to raise my prices.

As a tax payer, reading that sort of thing infuriates you.

The funniest thing is the guy who holds the tender basically called the DA racists because they called the FS out on this. Disgusting...

Did they actually pay for it? I wont deal with Goverment because they dont pay. (And i could have given a very good web site for less than R10,000 and thrown in all the bells and wihsles)

No heads will roll as they all shared in the spoils of corruption. This is just the way that this corrupt, incompetent government works! And all the stupid people keep voting for them because they live on promises.

I am sooo gatvol! The worst is that they believe they are right and is incapable of seeing. Even the basics is above comprehension. Words like re-branding and "phase lift" ( face-lift is to ordinary) is thrown around, just because it sounds good. No idea what they are talking about, all they know is, it must be justifiable to spend a lot of money... Our City spend R40 000 per speed hump. Where no speed humps is needed! But it is good money, so lets build a lot! Then you get the "Master web coder", that is 100% black owned, that come and criticize the story, citing that he would do a much better job and compare it to PnP re-branding that cost R110 million! So, at least we can understand why "re-branding" is such a powerful word.

Even the garden boy believes he is an engineer, builder, plumber, electrician or anything else under this sun. He observed it once, now he is an expert. hehe, got a tiler in the other day. The garden boy could not be moved away from him. Observed his every move. Now I hear he is a tiler as well. I must just get him the R6000 tile cutter...

In Durban the Manase report is still under wraps. The Monkeypality will not release the findings in spite of how many demands made. Must be a big state secret because it may incriminate a number of big wicks who had their fingers in the cookie jar??
