Angry Enough to make me vomit

    FISCAL CLIFF

Man, am I sick and tired of that new catch phrase. Every man and his dog is now talking about the FISCAL CLIFF.

...another Americanism that should be VOMITED on along with "Trending", "Twittersphere" and "I got a lot of Likes"

Nah, it's not you. Its been building up for a long time.

I read a lot, especially CNN & BBC and then there is the news of Cape Talk and the TV. It's just one of those phrases that annoys me because it is so overused.

"The holidays" aren't called "the silly season" in news circles for nothing - there's normally a dearth of news of real importance.

In fairness, USA's "fiscal cliff" is actually quite an important story with global economic consequences - so I think it would have got heavy coverage anyway.

Perhaps the question should be "which is more important - the USA's fiscal cliff or our death toll on S.A.'s roads over the holiday period?"

Whats another couple hundred deaths on the road, it is like hijacking and armed robberies, just becoming part of our daily lives, the traffic deaprtment must have made millions from all the fines.

What gets me is not the fact that so many people are talking about the problem in America, it is the overuse of the buzzword.

Road deaths, waste of time talking about it when visible policing is up to maggots.

Fiscal Cliff! Well, trust the Americans to coin a fancy word for bankrupt.

And the trouble with this particular cliff is that they don't even know if they have managed to avoid it or gone over it!
