    Codes (an amounts) on IRP5?

    Hi,

I have the following totals for an employee up to August 2012. Could anyone please advise on how to populate his IRP5 for the halfyear PAYE recon?

    Basic: R101,651.52
    Company Car Fringe: R6,300
    Medical Aid Fringe: R7,000
    PAYE: (R29,776.38)
    UIF Employee: (R374.34)
    Medical Aid Tax Credit: R1,842
    SDL: (R1,016.52)

I am struggling with the correct codes/amount relating to the Medical Aid Contributions paid by the employer on behalf of the employee.

At the moment the IRP5 screen with information captured looks as follows:

I get the following screens when I save the certificate:

I have tried putting amounts in the codes that they say I must use as well (I played around, as I don't know what amounts to use) and then I get more popups with more codes to use and then I am once again uncertain which amounts to put where...

Can anyone please advise on what codes and amounts to use in the above scenario?

    Hi

4005 should include all contributions (ie employee + employer). In this scenario you should use the R7000 under 4005.

This should sort out the error. If not let us know.

    Hi tax$$$,

Thank you very much for your response! I really appreciate it.

I took out code 4474 and replaced it with 4005. I took out 3810 from Income Received and decreased 3698 with the R7,000 (as it is not included in his income anymore). I put the Medical Aid tax credit under 4116.

It now looks like this (and it accepts it when saving ):

Does it look right to you now?

Thank you so much once again!
