The majority are realising that they have been taken for a ride, like the Nats did in the past with the white minority. So, the wheel turns. How can any so-called executive of a mining company earn on average the same salary as the 100's of guys that is doing the intensive labour, actually producing the product. South Africa's renumeration scales are heavily scewed. Sure, intelligence is needed to produce the product, but the labour plays an EQUAL part. So, I back the Marikana workers on this. There are to many lazy people out there feeding on the illiterate.
Agreed ... but, and it is BIG BUT, ... it is not only the Marikana miners. It is a whole raft of society at a number of levels, who are basically being screwed wholesale and retail!!!!!!

So when will these guys wake up and realise that the ANC's (and other politicians) promises of heaven on earth will never materialise?

It took 40 plus years for the arrogance of Nat's who were too stupid to realize that when a people have nothing to lose they don't mind sacrificing whatever it is that those that do have.
The ANC have reached that point in less than 20 years.

The old 'crab in a bucket syndrome' If I can't have it why should you?

Japan was almost wiped off the face of the earth following the American bombing raids and the nuclear bombing of Hirohima and Nagasaki. In less than 20 years the country was rebuilt and became the leading economy in the world.

In March 2011 Japan was hit by an 8.9 magnitude earthquake which triggered a massive tsunami and the meltdown of some of its nuclear reactors. The whole country worked together to overcome that disaster and manufacturing and trade is back on track in what was described by some as a miracle.

The state of Israel was founded amid attacks from its neighbours and several terrorist groups and became a thriving economy in far less than 20 years.

Germany was rebuilt after the 2nd world war. Their industry in the Ruhr valley and elsewhere was totally decimated, yet in far less than 20 years they became the leading economy in Europe and one of the strongest in the world.

The ANC came to power in South Africa in 1994. They were handed a country which had the strongest economy in Africa. It had the best education, military, transport system and infrastructure in general. Where is it all today? Why have they destroyed everything that worked and replaced it with the chaos we have in government today?

You have a point -- but believe me that, apart from a bigger economy, SA could not compare with Zimbabwe on the other fundamentals such as education, health ...etc... -- and look what happened there!

Who cares if a country survives or not, the most important thing is that you as an individual do well. Everything else is just fantasy. A flag is really just a slogan and an advertisement for a "nation" that is simply a business of money extraction from the population it dominates. Look here our flag is red or blue or yellow etc...

Now the key is to look at what happened in other countries in similar situation and exploit the situation.

For example; Argentine default, Russian default, Iraq (with Ethnic segmentation and Warlordism), Columbia comes to mind also since for a long time it was split more or less into three areas under different control. Leftists, rightists, and government each with their own 'warlord' area. Kurds are interesting but they live in an mountainous homogenous sorta area where they dominate, they had de-facto independence with Saddam granted he was winning until the no-fly zone and slowly pushing them off land and whatnot.

Russian default had basically each region under a gang or two and sometimes they 'conquered' other regions there was a push by Solntsevtsy vs Chechens in the middle of Moscow (essentially there was a private war of about 20k to 15k which pushed the later out).
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solntsevskaya_Bratva {wiki is wrong on the size of the group but anyways}
There was a crackdown recently one group in Krasnodar Krai recently which was in a somewhat rural, killing off farmers and locals (raping a bit too but the killing was a bit gruesome). Lets say a group of about a few hundred to a thousand was terrorizing a village settlement of about 30,000 in a small region of about 70,000 its like a densely populated rural area called a stanitsa.

Btw in Iraq if you think about it the Kurds have 3 seperate factions that control territory even though they are same ethnic and religious group.

Duhok is actually controled by PKK and not KDP or PUK.

(Take a bit of stride in what I say with a slightly "tongue in cheek" pretentious absurdity yet a bit truthful)

There is hope still if the ordinary citizens start voicing their opinions.

This is why the ANC want to gag the press.

Interesting thought. If everyone who had a criminal record had to get out of government how many would be left. The buck starts at the top with JZ. Until has his day in court nothing will change.
