Norri - I like the way you have explained the concept. It also makes me understand why I am so often so terribly disappointed when the product I have so proudly bought does not live up to its sales blurb.
As Adrianh says you will only sell the sizzle of a crappy steak once.
So I agree with the fact that marketing the hole is the issue as far as marketing goes - but if I find a better hole-maker later, I will never trust the first product again. After that I look at the specs very carefully. Marketing HAS to be backed up with good product (as you have said).
