    Distribution board in factory yard

While I'm posting electrical pics, I thought I'd post this db found in a factory yard.

That's exactly how we found it.

I'm particularly impressed with the board to keep off the rain. Quite a safety feature

So what held you back when they asked you to issue a COC?

One suggestion was to set the bribe at R200k and we'd give a free rewire

Actually, the factory electrician will be doing all the repairs (the same one who connected the machinery and weather proofed the db by the sounds of things).

I don't see a COC being issued any time soon - not by us anyway.

one good thing...plenty of ventilation...no chance of overheating the wires...

by the way this is not an uncommon site in factories...if you call the eca out...chances are they will ask what all the fuss is about.

Unbelievable. That board would take around half an hour to tidy up and probably about the same amount of time to replace the enclosure with a new one that has a door. The only excuse is bone idle laziness.

Or - there is no time for maintenance, just keep the motors turning.

until someone is injured...then suddenly you find the DOL come out of the wood work...management make time and funds available for repairs...etc...safety policies are quickly put into place and a small fee is paid out for any injuries...and it all goes away again...until the next injury.
