Are all gifts to employees seen as fringe benefits?

    Hi,

Are all gifts to employees seen as fringe benefits, no matter how insignificant the value? ie. A box of chocolates???

I believe that if you give T-shirts or even have a braai for your staff you are supposed to allocate a value to it and enter it as a benefit. If this is indeed true it seems very petty.
